On the 28th of June 2009, the world commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. As one of the leading lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organizations in Portugal, we are preparing an exhibition with material from organizations that support LGBT rights around the globe. We would like to invite and encourage you to participate by sending us some of your media supplies: material about your local gay parade, specific campaigns or publicity on your activities. There are countries where LGBT people are imprisoned and killed, others where they are not granted the civil rights they deserve. Fight with us; send us your current or past posters, flyers, images, t-shirts, flags, what you can, what you have. We will make a BIG MURAL with all the collected material and it would be important to have you represented in this celebration of the 40th Stonewall.HOW TO DO IT Please send your material by mail to the following address:Ilga-Portugal / Arraial Pride Rua de Sao Lazaro, 88 1150-333 Lisbon, Portugal If you are not able to do so, please send us what you have by e-mail (PDF, jpeg...) and we will try to make the best print of it: arraialpride@gmail.com ilga-portugal.pt OUR PHONE CONTACTS 351 218 873 918 351 917 260 201 MORE INFO ABOUT OUR EVENT 27.06.2009, Lisbon, Portugal Arraial Pride (Gay Parade) is a free party open to all people, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, that see themselves as a part of a more democratic and non-discriminating Portugal. Arraial Pride has been, since its start in 1997, the biggest and most nationwide participated lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) event. This initiative, which is integrated in the Lisbon program, gets support from the local administration and mobilizes society. It includes the participation of LGBT associations and collective groups, as well as humanitarian and social interest institutions and LGBT shops or LGBT friendly establishments (bars, pubs, restaurants). The tents promoted by these entities will be placed all around the party space with several tasks: serve food, drinks and other amusements with the purpose of keeping everyone cheerful and entertained; getting everyone to know all the participating associations and collective groups as well as their activities through the distribution of information flyers. In the end this is nothing more than an open mind night with no homophobia, open to everyone that wants to come, in the heart of a Lisbon free of prejudices and willing to integrate and respect all kinds of people and recognize their rights and full citizenship. Feel free to announce our event on your website and pass this message to partner organizations you may know. We thank you in advance for this support.
